Every Edelmann Elite power steering pump is 100% new, to prevent unidentified deterioration. Parts are corrosion coated and tested, to ensure long life, and include steel pulleys, pipes & clamps, sensors and integrated reservoirs, where applicable, for easier installation.
Hydroboost uses the pressure of the Power Steering Pump to power the Brake Booster. This is denoted by a third port on the Power Steering Pump and hoses that connect the pump to a brake unit behind the master cylinder.
Installation Tips
Where applicable, replace the Power Steering Reservoir or clean the internal filter
Completely flush the system with Power Steering Fluid prior to installation. Flushing the system is critical to prevent system contamination and failure
Consider replacing the Belt (found in the Belt Drive category). Modern belts wear gradually and become less efficient, which can put strain on the Power Steering Pump and other belt driven components
Install the pump, hoses, and all supplied o-ring seals according to installation instructions, to prevent leaking
Install the Power Steering Filter on the Power Steering Return Hose to prevent system contamination and extend the life of the power steering components
A replacement Power Steering Pump can whine or make noise until air is purged from the fluid. Bleed the system during installation to prevent noise and extend the life of the steering components
