On certain Ford trucks and vans, the original equipment studs connecting the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold flange can typically rust and break. Removal can be difficult and often requires drilling and heating by a torch. Safely accomplishing that repair demands a significant amount of time, skill and experience, along with some specialized tools. This Dorman OE FIX exhaust flange repair kit offers a cost-effective, faster and much simpler way to securely reconnect the converter and flange using ordinary hand tools, without drilling or heating. The innovative kit includes a pair of sturdy stainless steel brackets designed to fit over the broken stud sections on the manifold flange. The opposite end of each bracket has an integrated threaded stud that slides through the cat converter mounting holes.
