All Spicer ring and pinion gears are designed and tested to meet original equipment specifications. When you purchase genuine Spicer ring and pinion gear sets, you can be confident the ring and pinion set will meet or exceed the exact Dana standards that original equipment manufacturers have relied upon for more than a hundred years.
Differential Identification Guide
To order the correct ring & pinion, it's crucial to know the differential type and gear ratio on your vehicle.
Next, determine the gear ratio on your vehicle using one of the following methods:
Count The Teeth: Divide the number of teeth on the ring gear (big gear) by the number of teeth on the pinion gear (small gear). If you have 37 teeth on your ring gear and 12 teeth on your pinion gear, you have a 3.08 Gear Ratio (37 ÷ 12 = 3.08).
Verify Through A Dealer: Verify the ratio using your VIN number. This will only be accurate if the differential has not been previously modified.
