OE FIX
When the PCV valve fails on General Motors 1.4L Ecotec engines, it can cause a cascade of problems. This Dorman OE FIX kit offers a complete repair of all damaged components, with a redesigned manifold to prevent future valve failure.
Features & Benefits:
  • Convenient kit - includes intake manifold, valve cover and PCV tube assembly to completely address a common problem with GM 1.4L Ecotec engines
  • Complete repair - manifold failure often leads to valve cover failure, and PCV tube breaks during removal; this kit repairs all three related components
  • Improved design - included intake manifold is redesigned to correct a frequent PCV valve failure in the original equipment design
  • Effective fix - eliminates issues caused by failed PCV valve, including excessive oil consumption, irregular vacuum pressure, rough idle, trouble codes and other symptoms
Don't Forget About Your PCV Valve!

A PCV Valve is a maintenance item that should be replaced as often as every 30,000 miles (refer to your Owners Manual for recommended service intervals). Overextending the PCV Valve’s service life promotes sludge formation, which clogs the engine’s interior surfaces and can lead to condensation that causes engine wear.

Common symptoms of a faulty PCV Valve include:

  • Oil leaks / Oil in the Air Filter housing
  • Excessive Oil consumption
  • Gray-white smoke from the tailpipe
  • Check Engine Light illuminated (common codes include P0171 and P0174)
Service Tip: Remove the PCV Valve and gently shake it - if it does not rattle, the valve is clogged or dirty and should be replaced. A PCV Valve that rattles might still need to be replaced if it has been distorted inside by heat, oil exposure, and/or abrasion so that it leaks air.
